The inspection interval for this task is being revised from120-month threshold / 60-month repeat to 120-month threshold / 120-month repeat

If the applicable TLMC tasks are properly accomplished during the 120-month inspection, operators may avoid interior removal at the 180-month inspection for this specific requirement.

In many cases, this corrosion is not environmental, it is the result of undetected lavatory leaks. What may begin as a minor or intermittent issue can allow moisture and waste fluids to migrate beneath the floor structure, creating a corrosive environment over time.

Winter Operations Reminder: CL 605 Takeoff Safety Enhancement (TOSE) Service Bulletin

As winter conditions continue across much of North America, West Star Aviation would like to remind Challenger 605 operators of the importance of Service Bulletin (SB) 605-30-003 Revision 2 — Ice and Rain Protection: Take Off Safety Enhancement (TOSE), Supplemental Ground Wing Anti-Icing, Divided Parts Installation.

While this service bulletin is currently classified as recommended, it is already mandated by Canadian and EASA Airworthiness Directive CF-2017-007R1. Given the operational safety implications and international regulatory alignment, it is possible that the FAA could issue an Airworthiness Directive (AD) in the coming months incorporating this bulletin.

Applicability

SB 605-30-003 Rev 2 applies to:

CL 605 aircraft serial numbers 5701 through 5990
Aircraft Pre-SB 605-30-001

Prerequisite Requirement
SB 605-34-028 (Relocation of the Lift Dump System – LDS) must be completed prior to or at the same time as incorporation of this service bulletin.

Safety Background

Paragraph B of the service bulletin outlines the safety concern:

“A stall immediately after the take-off can occur during winter operations, because of ice contamination on the wing, when the anti-ice procedures are not obeyed.”

Ice or frost contamination on the wing’s leading edge during ground operations presents a significant safety risk. The Take Off Safety Enhancement (TOSE) system is specifically designed to mitigate this hazard.

What the TOSE System Provides

The TOSE system enhances ground anti-icing capability by:

West Star Aviation Acquires DCJet, Expanding Nationwide AOG Response and Maintenance Support

East Alton, IL – March 3, 2026, West Star Aviation, a leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for business aviation, today announced it has completed the acquisition of DCJet. The addition of DCJet strengthens West Star’s nationwide service footprint and enhances the company’s ability to deliver rapid, coordinated Aircraft on Ground (AOG) support across the United States.

DCJet is recognized in business aviation for responsive field maintenance and AOG expertise, along with a customer-first culture built on teamwork and technical excellence. West Star Aviation pursued the acquisition to build on those strengths by bringing together two organizations shared commitment to customer success, driven by expert technicians, collaborative teamwork, integrity, and operational excellence.

With this acquisition, West Star Aviation significantly expands its already established AOG network, one of the largest in the industry, growing from more than 200 technicians to over 250 AOG-ready experts positioned to respond 24/7/365 nationwide. This expanded bench and broader geographic coverage are designed to help operators minimize downtime when an aircraft needs maintenance support away from home base. In addition to AOG support, DCJet currently operates from five locations: Dulles International Airport (IAD) in Dulles, Virginia; Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) in Chicago, Illinois; Orlando International Airport (MCO) in Orlando, Florida; Boeing Field (BFI) in Seattle, Washington; and Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

West Star Aviation Breaks Ground on Major Expansion at Chattanooga, Tennessee Facility

Chattanooga, Tennessee- February 18, 2026, West Star Aviation, a leading independent maintenance, repair, and overhaul provider in business aviation, today announced a new groundbreaking expansion at its Chattanooga Airport campus. The project is driven by a growing volume of customer maintenance needs and powered by the skilled teams who keep aircraft maintained and returned to service every day. The expansion will increase the Chattanooga site to approximately 400,000 square feet, with completion targeted for February 2027.

The development adds capacity and capability across two key areas of the campus. Hangar 26 will be a 40,000 square foot hangar supported by 15,000 square feet of shop and office space, including customer offices, program offices, and climate-controlled storage to safeguard customer interiors and property when removed from the aircraft. The expansion also includes an overhead crane, fall protection systems, dedicated fire rated aircraft document storage rooms, and an improved customer lounge; enhancements designed to strengthen safety, efficiency, and the overall customer experience. The development will also expand the existing Hangar 27 with a new 2-story, 30,000 square foot addition, The new footprint will house an expanded Aircraft Service Department, Accessories Shop, Composite Shop, and Sheetmetal Shop, bringing critical functions closer together to improve workflow, communication, and turnaround.

The expansion is expected to create up to 200 additional skilled positions over the next five years, reinforcing West Star Aviation’s commitment to Tennessee’s workforce and the regional economy. Today, the Chattanooga location employs more than 500 team members supporting aircraft operators every day, underscoring the company’s continued momentum and long-term investment in the region.

Chattanooga continues to be a strategic location for West Star and for customers who need dependable access to maintenance support. With convenient reach across the Southeast, the East Coast, and the North Central United States, the airport’s accessibility combined with the region’s connectivity and amenities makes it an ideal place to expand and a strong foundation for long term service growth.
