Dassault Requests MROs Borescope Falcon 7X Horizontal Stabilizer Rear Hinge Area Fitting During 2C Inspections
Following some findings on another aircraft, Dassault Falcon has recently begun requesting that a borescope inspection of the horizontal stabilizer at the rear hinge fitting area be performed on every F7X that undergoes a 2C check.
The goal of this inspection is to detect a possible gap between the rear hinge fitting and the composite elements (spar and the vertical stiffener of the upper and lower skins).
There are several steps that your maintenance provider has been requested to note and related corrective actions to take when an undesirable gap is detected.
Currently, there has not been a formal A.D. issued yet. However, Dassault Falcon has stated that this inspection and necessary steps will be noted on the borescope of the tail.
West Star Aviation has three aircraft currently in-house undergoing the additional inspection processes.
For more information on this new request, the potential corrective action needed, or any of West Star Aviation’s full scope of Falcon maintenance and inspection capabilities, please contact any of the specialists below:
