WEST STAR AVIATION AWARDED DEFENSE FUELS CONTRACT
West Star Aviation’s Grand Junction (GJT) location was recently awarded the Defense Logistics Agency Energy (DLAE) Contract. The contract calls for delivery of both Jet A w/o FSII fuel and Jet A w/ FSII fuel to West Star Aviation at Grand Junction Regional Airport. Using services are Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies. The contract will span October 2012 to September 2016.
For the past four years, West Star GJT had the Defense fuel contract under EPIC; however, the new agreement is under the West Star name and allows them to work directly with Defense Fuels rather than through a branded dealer. The fuel will still be supplied by EPIC.
“West Star has always maintained a good relationship with the military,” says Dave Krogman, General Manager, West Star Aviation GJT. “This new contract will allow us to work one-on-one and better serve the military.”
This recently awarded contract makes West Star the only FBO on the Western Slope to offer Jet A Defense Fuels. West Star’s GJT location features a convenient 10,500 ft. runway, over 20 acres of ramp space, and 346 Visual Flight Rules (VFR) days with visibility better than 20 miles and ceilings of 5,000 ft.
