WEST STAR AVIATION SPONSORS FIFTH ANNUAL LEADERSHIP BREAKFAST AT NBAA
The Fifth Annual Aviation Leadership Breakfast was hosted on October 10, 2011 at the Las Vegas Convention Center rooms N245 and N247. The breakfast featured guest speaker, Air Force Fighter Pilot, Captain Scott O’Grady, who shared his story of the life or death situation he found himself in when he was shot down in war-torn Bosnia. This inspiring story was the basis for the hit movie, Behind Enemy Lines.
Sponsors for this event included West Star Aviation, Corporate Concepts International, Inc., Bank of America/ Merrill Lynch, Fafinski Mark & Johnson, P.A., and other aviation firms
The event was open to all aviation professionals as well as friends and supporters of the corporate aviation industry. The popularity of the breakfast has grown over the years, and the format has changed to accommodate the overwhelming demand to attend. It is designed for those of us who have gotten so much from our industry as a means to “put back into the industry” by providing a leadership series for tomorrow’s leaders, an effective way to develop friendships even across competitive lines, and reach out and build character qualities as present by the speakers.
Captain Scott O’Grady was a great addition to the tradition of fantastic speakers, sharing his inspiring story of spirit and leadership. Past speakers for the breakfast have included, Chad Hennings, Fighter Pilot and Superbowl Champion; Dan Cathy, President and Chief Operating Officer of Chick-fil-A; Franklin Graham, President of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association; and Captain Jim Tucker, Survivor and Hero of the 1994 FedEx hijacking, Bryon Moss, retired Chairman of Gulfstream Aerospace.
The annual attendees from every facet of corporation aviation and from multiple countries find the annual Aviation Leadership Breakfast an effective time for networking and fellowship for aviation professionals, as well as an opportunity to learn from some of the most dynamic and experienced leaders in our business aviation industry.
