Gogo is migrating its existing ATG Network to LTE technology. This means that for aircraft equipped with a classic Gogo ATG System (ATG-1/2/4/5/8000), service for that network will terminate on May 1, 2026. This is projected to affect approximately 2,000 aircraft currently flying.
The effected airframes include:
- Citation X(+), 680 (+), XLS (+), Excel, Latitude
- Gulfstream G550, G650, G-IVSP, G450, G200, G280, G-V, G-IV, G150, G650ER
- Challenger 300, 350, 604, 605
- Falcon 2000, 900, 900EX, 2000LX, 50, 50EX
- Hawker 800XP, 400XP (+Beechjet 400A), 900XP, 850XP, 4000
- Embraer Phenom 300, Legacy 600
- Learjet 60, 45, 45XR
The fastest and most cost-efficient way for operators to maintain service on this equipment is to have a C1 installed. This installation maintains service and speed of the original equipment at a fraction of the cost of a complete system upgrade.
Cost is approximately $40,000, but Gogo is offering a substantial rebate ($35,000) on orders placed before December 31, 2025, that brings the C1 installation cost down to approximately $5,000 for operators who act quickly. Note: The C1 bridge option will not be in new production after May 1, 2026, but will still be supported beyond this date, so act now!
West Star Aviation can perform this installation under the Matrea Aerospace AML STC ST01117DE at all locations and even has tooled up MRT teams in order to perform the upgrade at customer locations.
Operators are urged to provide ATG wiring diagrams to West Star Avionics and Engineering specialists as soon as possible to ensure a smooth installation and for a more precise downtime estimate.
