West Star is now offering the Lufthansa niceHD CMS system as a retrofit option in the Challenger 300. The niceHD is a fully integrated, Ethernet backbone CMS system, proving cabin control and entertainment features.  This system is a natural fit in the 300 because it is installed in the Challenger 350 at the factory. 

The Lufthansa niceHD replaces the existing Audio International cabin management system in the earlier serial number Challenger 300s.   The Audio International system lacks support and can be problematic to the operator when a switch panel or piece of hardware fails.  

This upgrade provides fresh 4.3” touchscreen switch panels at each passenger seat, a 7” galley touchscreen,  22” and 20” HD LCD bulkhead monitors with HDMI/USB media input ports, Media Center with Blue Ray player, AVOD server and a new HI-FI audio system.  Bluetooth modules supply headphone audio and allow for music streaming, and USB-C charging at each seat. Lufthansa supplies tear drop shaped bezels to make the transition from Audio International passenger seat switches simple and easy with minimal impact to the drink rail.   Lufthansa membrane switches will replace all the other various cabin switching such as entryway and lavatory swathes. 

The Lufthansa software features a stylish Graphical User Interface and the niceview MOBILE 3D moving map system for IOS and Android devices.  The niceHD app allows for streaming of content and niceview Mobile allows for control of cabin functions with Apple or Android devices. 

Lufthansa has created a standard package for the Challenger 300 that keeps costs down and still provides a tremendous amount of value to operators with unsupported CMS equipment.  Adding the niceHD can give your Challenger 300 a similar look and feel as a new Challenger 350! Downtime is expected to initially be in the 6-8 range, but may be able to turn even faster. This installation is available at all four full-service locations (ALN, GJT, CHA, PCD).
