West Star Aviation is pleased to announce that we will begin offering the SD Plane Simple^TM installations at our ALN, GJT and CHA facilities beginning in Q1 of 2022 on the following airframes:

• Dassault F2000LX, LXS, S, F900EX, DX, LX, EX Easy, F7X, 
• Challenger 650, 605, 604, 
• Global 5000, 6000, Express, and Express XRS. 

Cabin connectivity is a must have in a fast-paced world, but options can be complex and often expensive. It is no secret that today’s operators are looking for faster data rates and reliable, worldwide coverage. The Plane Simple^TM Antenna System from Satcom Direct paired with Intelsat’s FLEXEXEC Service is a combination that represents an unprecedented value by delivering performance and connectivity, all while a simplified installation process saves aircraft downtime and expense. 

Out of the gate, a lower LRU count in the Plane Simple System reduces complex installations. Additionally, many aircraft already have the required Ku radome outfitted from the factory which further reduces installation cost and downtime. 

The system is comprised of two Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), simplifying installation and configuration requirements while providing a seamless and cost-effective transition path as technology advances. Several STC’s are currently being developed for various airframes.

The FlexExec service provides options for global service plans that can be based on actual aircraft data usage or plans for operators with higher data usage. Intelsat’s FlexExec is the only service designed specifically for business aviation. The global, secure, multi-layered broadband satellite connectivity network delivers consistent, high-performance coverage and service. FlexExec capacity is not shared with commercial aviation or consumer broadband customers, meaning business jet passengers will always have consistent, on-demand global connectivity. FlexExec also offers additional services like FDF/Datalink, SD Flight Tracker, and Cybersecurity Tier 2.

West Star estimates Installation time at 3-5 weeks depending on the airframe type and router selection. Overall equipment purchases and installation costs will be less than comparable systems.
