West Star Aviation Expands Dallas-Area Support with Addison Satellite Facility

Experienced Maintenance, Avionics and Technical Support Is Now Closer to Dallas-Area Operators

West Star Aviation continues to expand the convenience and accessibility of its industry-leading MRO services with its newest satellite facility at Addison Airport (ADS), strategically located in the heart of the Dallas Metroplex.

As the fifth West Star Aviation satellite location, Addison brings experienced technicians, avionics capabilities, engineering resources, and the support of the broader West Star organization directly to one of the country’s most active business aviation markets.

For Dallas-area operators, the advantage is straightforward: more maintenance and avionics work can now be accomplished locally, reducing the need to reposition an aircraft to another maintenance facility.

40,000 Square Feet of Local Capability

Led by Satellite Manager Rob Harris, the Addison location provides support for a wide range of business aircraft, including Textron, Embraer, Gulfstream, Bombardier, and Dassault Falcon platforms.

The facility features four hangars totaling approximately 40,000 square feet of hangar space, providing the capacity to support multiple aircraft and a variety of maintenance and modification requirements.

Capabilities include:

  • Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
  • Drop-in maintenance
  • Airframe inspections
  • AOG support
  • Avionics troubleshooting and support
  • Avionics installations and upgrades
  • Aircraft modifications
  • Structural support

The location is designed to provide the personalized, responsive service associated with West Star’s satellite network while giving customers access to the resources of a much larger MRO organization. West Star currently operates satellite locations in Addison, Chicago, Denver, Houston, and Minneapolis.

An Experienced Team from Day One

Capability is about more than hangar space.

The Addison team currently includes eight technical specialists, with plans to continue expanding the team as customer demand grows.

That depth of experience is particularly important for operators who need more than routine maintenance. Troubleshooting an avionics discrepancy, evaluating an unexpected inspection, finding or planning a complex modification requires technicians who understand both the aircraft and the systems surrounding the affected area.

West Star’s Addison team combines hands-on technical experience with access to the engineering, avionics, structures, and specialized expertise available throughout the West Star organization.

Less Repositioning. More Convenience.

Having a West Star facility based at Addison provides an important logistical advantage for operators throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Aircraft that previously may have required repositioning for inspections, avionics work or scheduled maintenance can now have many of those services performed locally. That can reduce ferry time, simplify crew logistics and help operators minimize the operational downtime associated with moving an aircraft away from its home base.

It also creates a valuable local resource when unexpected maintenance needs arise.

The goal is to combine the convenience and responsiveness of a local maintenance provider with the technical depth and resources customers expect from West Star Aviation.

Complex Structural Support Through DAS Aviation

The Addison facility has another significant advantage: proximity to DAS Aviation, West Star’s sister company and an industry-leading FAA Part 145 Repair Station specializing in aircraft structural and component repair.

When an inspection or maintenance event uncovers a more complex structural issue, the Addison team can leverage nearby DAS Aviation capabilities rather than leaving the customer to coordinate another outside provider.

DAS Aviation specializes in airframe structural repair, sheet metal fabrication, composite repair, component overhaul and repair, landing gear services, engineering, machining, and parts support. This proximity provides West Star’s Addison customers with access to substantial specialized repair expertise within the same broader organization.

That relationship creates a powerful combination: local aircraft maintenance and avionics expertise backed by specialized structural, engineering and component capabilities when the scope of a project demands it.

Local Service. West Star Resources.

West Star Aviation’s satellite strategy is designed to bring experienced technicians and frequently needed services closer to where customers operate their aircraft.

Addison builds on that model with significant hangar capacity, an experienced technical team and direct access to West Star’s broader maintenance, avionics, engineering, modification, and AOG resources.

Whether the requirement is a scheduled inspection, an avionics upgrade, troubleshooting an unexpected discrepancy or coordinating a more complex repair, Dallas-area operators now have another option without necessarily having to take their aircraft out of the region.
