Late summer demand for MRO and Interior services has increased at West Star Aviation, particularly at our East Alton, IL (ALN) facility. And as demand increases, the company has continued to adapt new ways to handle packed schedules and delivery deadlines, while still delivering world-class quality and service.
- ALN has increased seat covering/refurbishment capacity by 2.5x in the last six months, and aims to be at three times capacity compared to January 2021 within the month.
- Addition of in-house 3-axis CNC capabilities within the next three weeks – this will further increase quality control and reduce dependency on third party support, all while reducing turn-times
- ALN is actively adding more second shift technicians in our wood shop – this has decreased throughput times and increases overall efficiency
While these efforts to meet increased demand are effective, one of the most effective measures on the customer side is advanced event planning. It is more important than ever for operators to plan for major events well in advance. This can make the different in securing scheduling spots or risk having your event pushed beyond your desired completion date.
