Large First-time Calendar Inspections: G450 & G650

West Star Aviation’s dedication team of Gulfstream Specialists recently completed two large, first-time calendar inspections – a 96-month, 8C Inspection on a G650 and a 192-month inspection on a G450.  These are the two latest examples of “Service In Action” from the West Star Team that led to a recommendation for a new customer and the return of an existing customer.  These are the stories we love to tell…

Gulfstream 650 96-month 8C inspection:
Large calendar inspections are a major event in the operational life of an aircraft and the 96-month, 8C inspection is no different.  West Star is pleased to announce that it has completed its first on a G650.  The inspection scope requires approximately 1,800 labor hours and 20 days of aircraft downtime.  The existing West Star customer had two previous events handled by the West Star Team at ALN and returned for the third major event within one year as a result of the service and experience of the Gulfstream Team.  The first event was a 48-month inspection where the West Star Team was able to save the customer roughly 35% in cost and reduced downtime by two weeks when compared to the OEM.

Gulfstream 450 192-month Inspections:
The earliest serial numbers of the G450 have just entered the inspection phase in 2021.  West Star is pleased to have performed service on some of the earliest to comply outside of the OEM with this most recent event at ALN.  The CHA facility also has a 192-month currently in work as well and ALN currently has 2-3 additional G450 inspections scheduled for 2022.

West Star Aviation was recommended to the most recent ALN customer by another G450 operator that spoke highly of their experience with us and planned to return in 2022 for their 16C.  Based on that recommendation, the customer initially visited WSA for a minor MX event, in which our team exceeded their expectations and garnered that opportunity to quote not only the 192-month inspection, but an expanded package that included updated cabin soft-goods, carpet, entry-way and galley flooring.

The emphasis on communication between the customer, our Gulfstream Team and West Star Interior Specialist Emilie Harbour’s attention to detail and willingness to exceed expectations at every opportunity have made this project a success for both West Star and the customer.

These are just the latest examples of the focused expertise and customer service that resulted in extremely satisfied West Star customers.  For more information on Gulfstream inspections or any of the other services available, please contact one of the West Star specialists below:
